The objective:
Benecol exists 25 years in 2020 and wanted to launch an awareness campaign about cholesterol around this epic number. It also offers alternatives to help you lower your cholesterol.
--> Inform about cholesterol and all the myths surrounding it.
--> Put Benecol products in the spotlight & celebrate it's 25th anniversary.
The story:
Benecol is a Finnish brand of cholesterol-lowering food, due to its unique plant stanols. It has been shown in more than 80 clinical studies that plant stanol ester reduces LDL cholesterol by an average of 7 - 12.5% with a daily intake of 1.5 - 3 grams.
Increased cholesterol increases the risk of coronary heart disease. Cardiovascular diseases, including coronary heart disease, cause almost one third of all deaths worldwide, and are therefore the biggest cause of death today. Elevated cholesterol is one of the main risk factors in the development of coronary artery disease. More than half of all people have elevated cholesterol, often without realising it.
How we did it:
Collaboration with five Belgian food bloggers
We contacted five different food and mom bloggers/influencers, who organized a healthy and cholesterol-free brunch for their parents, as older people have more risks. In this way Benecol wants to give a warm welcome to your loved ones. We picked out the influencers thoroughly, knowing what they have to offer.
We wanted to see cosy brunches in which family and awareness around cholesterol were key.
Each influencer organized a give away, so one of their followers could win a fully filled brunchbasket to organise their own brunch with Benecol.
